barestate

i’m building self-improving machines at barestate.

i’m starting with computers: a machine that can see the screen, take an action, and learn from whether it worked. each attempt should make the next one better.

the first piece was atom. i adapted a compact model to turn screenshots into clicks on apple silicon, then built the runtime and evaluation around it. it fits in 169 MB and takes about 360 ms per warm inference on an M4.

orbit, my computer-use agent, ranks #3 on screenspot-pro. it keeps verified experience and tests updates in the background so it can learn from using your computer.
